Originating in Australia, Germany, Finland, Canada, and both coasts of the US, the five producers of Prox make it a gripping collection that takes only 30 minutes to conjure a view into the next epoch of electronic composition. Spenza (Vakant) sets the pace with the cotton-packed beats of “Dia”, while Detroit Underground founder Kero follows up with the minor-key loops and crunch of “Aftarileyshit”. Other exclusive tracks explore a spectrum of sounds from the microscopic-panoramic glitch of edIT (Planet MU) to the quiet shimmer of Lackluster (Merck) and vocal-laced grandeur of Tim Koch’s closer “Ik Zak Fout”.
